How to be invited as a partner in research and innovation grant applications

Almost the whole last year I was involved as Training Coordinator in the Programme Turkey in Horizon 2020 phase II. Being responsible for the training or training directly around one thousand participants as Turkish Beneficiaries of Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe was a remarkable experience. I learned a lot of things not necessarily all related to Horizon 2020 since a big lesson for me was also the cultural differences as well as the cultural similarities with Turkey. I made a lot of friends in Turkey and I am looking forward to see them being successful in Research and Innovation Proposals and Projects.

Now one big training or coaching need from almost all of the individuals that I trained in Turkey was on how to get involved as partners in promising consortia of research and innovation proposals. In the video below, I describe in more detail three elements that anyone should focus in order to be an attractive partner in research and innovation proposals under preparation. The three elements are:

  • Train accordingly or show that you have the resources to contribute with a high value of content in the proposal development process
  • Show that you can provide direct or indirect links with policy advisors and policy makers
  • Start initiating your own research and innovation proposal preferably in another call and use it as passport for being invited in other proposals via mutual involvement in the proposals under development

For adding further value to what you have learned from this article/video, you can now register in my Funding Expert Accelerator Programme  that in addition to have exclusive access  every month to unique in-depth trainings on EU funds that I deliver nowhere else but only in this programme, you can also have  an one-to-one live session with me remotely where I can guide you specifically on any challenges you are facing (e.g. your strong and weak points and how to work for becoming a great funding expert, which funding programmes can support your idea or your organisation’s mission, how to get involved in proposals as partner, how to deal with specific issues in regards to a grant application or a funded project that you are involved, etc.) You set the agenda for our discussion and coaching session according to your own needs.
